image description >

The goal of the Carpathian Spotted Cattle Pilot Program is to preserve and reintroduce the Carpathian spotted cattle breed, which is now on the verge of extinction, back to Hungary. The program offers numerous opportunities, including genetic conservation, the production of related artisanal products, ecotourism, nature conservation-based land use, strengthening the population retention capacity of rural settlements, and promoting local product production. The program is coordinated and implemented by the Bükk National Park Directorate in collaboration with the National Centre for Biodiversity and Gene Conservation and the breeding organization.
